To know His voice

So many times I am asked the same question , how do (I) know when God is speaking? Well,  I know that many may be upset at what I am about to say,  but sometimes when we hear some one else say what we need to do it just makes sense.
So let me share with you why we may have a hard time  hearing or discerning the voice of God.

1 - We are not spending time getting to know the word of God.
2-We are not spending time developing intimacy in prayer.

I say we need to take time to know the word and to pray. I do understand some even have a hard time with that. Let`s keep it simple - just sit and  talk to Him. There is really no format to prayer . It is a conversation between you and Him your Father. As your Father, He loves when you  just speak to Him.

This is the season  God is clearly calling us to a time of intimacy. We are in a time where the body of Christ, more than ever, needs to know the voice of God.

  1. Well said, Irma. I truly believe we need to draw closer to Him and spend more quality time seeking Him. In the Word and in prayer. Not out of religiosity- but out of intimacy, as you said.

    Blessings, sister. Keep writing!!

  3. I think the confusion stems from the fact that many of us are so used to seeking the word of men for guidance and not the word of God; approval of man, rather than the approval of God. We have become so accustom to hear all the voices around us that we hardly listen to the internal, still voice of God guiding, directing, and loving us. We have place man in the place of God, and because of that, many of us are lost living our lives confused and in doubt. We run to man for answers and then when the “prophesy or word” doesn’t come true, we get angry, disappointed and dishearten. And then we question and blame God for it. Yup! That was me, long ago. Thank God for his mercy and deliverance. Does he use man, yes; but we must seek God 1st! Secondly, test all spirits.

You are right, it is time for us to take back our position as sheep and allow the good Sheppard to guide us and restore us onto him. Only then, will we recognize his voice, and his voice alone.

  4. Heb 13:7 Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith.

Confusion comes when we don`t know the word.
